Michael Heizer, an influential figure from the 20th and 21st centuries, is known for producing large outdoor earthwork sculptures and for his work with rock, concrete and steel that exists both outside and inside museums and galleries. At over a mile long, Michael Heizer's City is a monumental sculpture located in Nevada, which opened in 2022 after a 50-year completion process.

City, a sculpture made of dirt, rock, and concrete—a mile and a half long—can only be seen by visitors by being traversed. There is no singular perspective; it is a collection of numerous forms viewed separately. Michael Heizer’s sculpture for Wadi AlFann will be similarly immersive, and equally adapted to its unique environment.
